Why is that people think they can just interrupt your day when you work from home?
If I was a lawyer would you come to my office and ask me to come to your house and help you fix the sink in the middle of the workday? Probably not… but why do people think they can do it when I’m working at home?
Or how about people that call me or text me all day and get mad when I don’t respond immediately. I’ve never once been called or texted about something that couldn’t have waited 2 hours or til the end of the day. Just because you call me at noon doesn’t mean I have to pick up your phone call right then.
If I answered every phone call/IM/email when it came in, I would have about 15 minutes of productive work per day. My whole day would be dedicated to getting other people what they want instead of getting done what I need to be more successful.

Couldn’t agree more man. I turn my cell phone off sometimes when I really need to get stuff done. Even just knowing I have to call people back can mess up the flow.
