Sooner or later I figured I was going to hit a rough patch, but I didn’t think it was going to be all at once. I’ve lost a ton of traffic to my main income producing pages (about 50-60%) and the traffic Im getting now, just doesn’t seem to be converting like it used to.
My income for the past 4 months or so has been around 10k net profit. For March, I’m going to be lucky to net 2k. I kinda thought this was going to happen, as I really have neglected by link building with my pages and have put more focus towards my MMA site and also the new fitness site Im working on. I guess I just didn’t expect it to all crash down at once.
I was planning on trying to squeek by for the next 2 months until my fitness site hits the ground running, but I’m starting to think that might be a bad idea. A few quality link purchases might be a good investment for me at this point to try and boost my SE rankings back to the top for my top earning pages.
I know long term that the fitness site is going to be a HUGE hit. There’s no doubt in my mind. It’s gonna really help people and make a difference in their lives, and also be huge earner for me and my partner. My projection for us in 1.5-2 years is to be making between $1-$2 million off the site. Between the community we are going to build, our branding, the residual income, PPC, and all of our products…I know it’s going to be a big winner.
But until that day comes, I still need to make do with what I have right now. So I’m reachin out to you guys who read my blog all the time… Whats the best way to get some good pages that used to rank well, back up into the top tier results?

My suggestions – Refresh the content even if it means re-writing the entire article or a few paragraphs. I like to do mine every couple of weeks which is why I am starting to focus more on smaller sites that target just the big rooms. I look at the other sites, see what they are doing, analyze their backlinks…obtain a couple links if it’s been a bit since my page has peaked on the first page. Something I find that does make a difference is adding dates on the pages. I find I have better conversion rates when the player knows when the page was last updated. It’s a pain to do them all but it works nicely. I’m kind of curious which site your talking about , although I am sure you won’t share
Anyway it will come back in time.
I’m pretty much in agreement with Kaus – fresh content keeps things fresh and the search engines do appreciate it. To be honest, my link building has been fairly minimal for the past 6 months but it doesn’t seem to have had an adverse effect, yet!
Adding something auto-updating that will add something fresh to the page each day could help as well as the spiders will stop by more frequently and give you more authority in the eyes of the SEs.
I think Kaus hit it right on the head. Everything has a cycle especially the net. Other sites have seen what you’ve done and copied it and improved enough to get ahead.. Now it’s your turn. We know you can do it!
Good luck~

Hi…very nice site you have! I strongly recommend that you post at least once per day. I went on vacation last year to Miami and did not post on my blog for 2 weeks and it had a huge effect on my traffic and it took about one month to get back on track. When you post everyday, the spiders come everyday!
