In the fitness industry there’s so many niches, it’s rediculous…   Don’t try to target everyone, or you’ll end up with no one…  Pick a niche and become THE expert….

Some good ideas…

  • Women (moms, busy moms, teenage girls, college girls)
  • Elderly
  • Youth fitness
  • Sport specific fitness
  • Rehabilitation
  • Fat loss
  • Bodybuilding
  • Gaining mass/weight for skinny folks
  • Weight loss for extremely obese people
  • Ab workouts
  • Circuit Training
  • Old school training
  • Strongman training
  • Powerlifting
  • Kettlebells
  • Resistance bands
  • Medicine ball training
  • Bodyweight exercises
  • Fighter specific training (MMA, jiu jitsu, muay thai could all be sub categories)
  • Traveling business people
  • Celebrity training

This list is right off the top of my head.   Seriously, 5 minutes of thinking and I gave you some very good ideas to build a business model around.  There’s really just endless niches and sub niches in the fitness industry.  Pick any one of these niches and become the go to person in the fitness industry for that niche.

The real fun (and money) is at the fringes, not in the middle…

Hey
Been reading your blog for a while and am enjoying it.
Thanks for this post. I have been working on my strength blog for a while and haven’t quite found my voice. Lately (and it’s funny your list contained this) I’ve been thinking about the Traveling business people type angle.
Keep up the good work!
All the best
Joe

I think resistance bands are great. They’re cheap, portable, and can provide you with a great workout. That would be a great niche to target.
