What are YOUR biggest problems with online marketing?

by justin on December 30, 2008

I’d like to really start writing some articles based on the exact things YOU need help with.

So let me know in the comments below what is confusing you, or something you’d like explained or maybe its just something you know nothing at all about, but would like to learn. This could be…

  • blogging
  • getting search traffic from Google, Yahoo and MSN
  • where to get traffic from
  • how to write copy
  • how to get newletter readers

Basically anything you want to know is fair game (besides my gf’s phone number :)

Setting up a newsletter/getting people to sign up and generating traffic. I appreciate the site Justin. BTW, there’s no way Miranda’s getting around where I’m from at the rate she does on TV.

I can set up a website just fine using Dreamweaver. I’m good with buying the domain and hosting stuff. I am also good with setting up blogs on Blogger. My problem is that I want to use the blog as my homepage to use video blogs and other stuff. I have 3 websites to set up like this and it’s been a challenge getting it done. I know should have my home page be the blogger home page, but how do I get my host to use the blogger page as my home page instead of my traditional homepage that I’m currently using. As an end result, I would like my homepage and entire website to be set up a blogger template, hosted by .doteasy, namecheap, ect. Another problem I’m having is using the free templates out there on blogger. They look great, but there are all kinds on html issues and I’m not very good with html. Dreamweaver is my crutch. Ryanlee.com does it great, and so does Martha Stewart(don’t ask).

I have trouble writing good copy. Writing articles for my blog and content for my site always gives me trouble. I never know what to write about then when i do have an idea it is only a paragraph long.

Thanks everyone, this is very helpful…

@ Kaus – Thanks, I think I can swing some good keyword research content for ya!

@ Alex – Newsletters are new to me as well, still tryin to figure out the best way to do it, but I’ll share my experiences in a post soon…

@Scott – Im really confused as to what you are looking for? Do you want to run a regular http://www.example.com on a blogger template? If so, I’d suggest just using wordpress like I do here and at Gym Junkies. It would take you about a day or two to learn the basics, and there’s WAY more benefits to having your own domain than using blogger.

@ Atlanta Trainer – Great idea, a lot of people have this problem, Ill be sure to give you some helpful ideas.

My biggest hurdle is fighting boredom followed by getting links!

I want my blog and website home page to be the same thing. I want all my site links to be on that home page. Basically I want the blog format to replace my homepage.. like http://www.ryanlee.com or http://www.strengthcamp.com/. “It’s what everybody’s doing.” I want to blog/video blog on my homepage and have the rest of my links on the site as well. Hope that clarifies?

@ Scott – You can do this through Wordpress. Wordpress has a feature within the setting where you can have a static homepage, or you can make your homepage your blog posts.

If this is beyond your scope, I would hire a programmer for $40 off Craigslist or eLance.com
