I’m out in Utah this weekend at my friend Mike Geary’s house for a mastermind.

One thing that’s cool about this mastermind, is it’s much more of an “informal hang” than a mastermind.

We all stay in the same house…

We all eat together…

And over the course of a couple days we go on hikes, get massages, go snowboarding and do a little masterminding.

I’ve only been here for about 24 hours so far…

And we haven’t done any “masterminding” yet, but there’s a few insights I want to share with you…

1.  The best business relationships start as friendships

Back in 2008 or so, I met Dave Sinick at a marketing event in New Jersey.

I was 25 at the time.

Dave was prolly 21 or so.

We were two of the youngest people there.

So we instantly bonded and started talking about everything from partying to girls to business.

That friendship that started in 2008 is still going on with Dave.

I’ve written copy for his Paleohacks business…

He joined my Copy Accelerator group…

So it’s a win-win business relationship.

But even if we don’t have any business to do together…

We would still be friends.

And I think that’s a big part of a good business relationship.

Most of the people I do deals with…

Or I promote as an affiliate…

Are people that I’m friends with in real life.

Point being…

Focus on making friends, before you make deals.

Alright let’s jump into another one of these…

2.  Mike Geary has been doing the same thing for 12+ years and he has more money than everyone at this mastermind

In a world where most of us jump from one idea to the next, my friend Mike Geary is an anomoly.

Why?

Because he’s been doing the same thing since 2008.

He basically sells low-priced books (cookbooks, info products etc…) and builds his list with those buyers.

Then he monetizes those buyers on the backend.

That’s all he does.

And he’s damn good at it.

It’s why he owns like 4 houses, skis multiple times a week and lives a life that most people can only dream of.

He doesn’t get distracted…

Or enamored by the next shiny object.

He just keeps doing what works for him (and he keeps getting better at it).

I know this isn’t sexy…

Or what most people want…

But if you want to achieve a high level of wealth and success, it’s the best way to do it.

Alright let’s do one more of these…

3.  Nothing will expand your belief of what’s possible more than being around people doing bigger things than you

Everytime I hang with this crew, I level-up.

How?

Simply by hearing what they’re doing.

For example…

Mike Geary has more money than he’ll ever need.

Yet, he’s still pushing himself.

He just bought into a supplement company as a partner…

He recently launched a healthy burger restaurant in Boulder (Wild Pastures Burger Co)…

And he already owns a piece of at least 10+ businesses that I know of (probably even more).

Mike could easily just sit back and do nothing.

But that’s not him.

He’s always looking for new deals…

And ways to grow his money.

And for me just watching this over the last two years has been really eye opening.

It’s changed the way I look at investing.

And what I do with my money.

So again…

Putting yourself in rooms where the people int he room are doing BIGGER things than you is crucial.

I’d even say it’s a MUST if you want to get to a certain level.

So I recommend you do the same.

Whether that’s a room you find yourself…

Or it’s going to an event like Copy Accelerator.

Either way…

You should do everything you can to surround yourself with people doing BIGGER things than you.

Make sense?

I hope so.

Cause that’s all I got for ya this afternoon.

Enjoy your Friday.
