I’m in the mood to riff…

So here’s 3 random things on my mind this morning.

1. Ramit Sethi always says you need to “stop focusing on $3 tasks and start focusing on $30,000 tasks”.

I see this all the time in our world…

People obsessing over their 3rd upsell, when they don’t even have a good 1st upsell.

Or people focusing on a backend offer, when simply writing a new lead for their front-end offer could help them scale.

You have to remember, you only have so much time in the day.

So make sure your time is spent on those $30,000 tasks…

And not the $3 tasks.

The $30,00 tasks are what move the needle.

2. Speaking of needle movers…I started working out at the Starting Strength gym here in Austin recently.

They do a great job of focusing on the BIG needle movers in the gym.

Each workout you do 3 lifts.  Which are the main barbell lifts (squats, deadlifts, presses etc)

And then you add weight each workout so you keep getting stronger.

The program is simple, but brutally effective.

They keep you focused on those main 4-5 lifts.

And they watch your form like a hawk.

There’s no need for accessory exercises or anything else.

It’s brilliant.

From both a marketing perspective…

And a strength perspective.

Cause people love things that are simple.

And they love doing the least amount possible to get the best result.

Lot-of-lessons in there…

3. While we’re on the topic of needle movers, I got another good one for ya.

On Friday, Chance Anthony (who has a very successful biz-opp offer on Youtube) messaged me that he signed-on with my tax strategist that I intro’d him to back in February.

After a few Zoom calls, Jeff (my tax strategist) dug into Chance’s business and showed him that he could save him at least $200,000 in taxes this year.

Which is awesome to hear.

This is an area most entreprenuers don’t pay enough attention to (I know I never did).

We put all our focus on MAKING money…

But we don’t pay enough attention to KEEPING that money.

And keeping the money is just as important.

A regular CPA (even if they’re good) usually doesn’t cut it.

You need a tax strategist in your corner.

If you’re already good at making money, I suggest putting more focus into KEEPING that money this year.

You’ll be glad you did.

Alright, that’s all I got for today…

I’m off to get a walk in at the park.

Enjoy your Sunday.
