I’m gonna share some insights with you that I learned from my 1000 Buyers A Day launch that just wrapped.

Let’s start with the “big picture”…

Overall, the launch was a big success.

I got 336 new subscribers for the Justin Goff Marketing Letter.

Which I’m very happy with.

I LOVE writing the newsletter each month, so being able to share it with more people is awesome.

Now let’s talk about some of the tactical stuff that worked during the launch…

1.  Retargeting

I’ve run a few of these launches, but never did re-targeting cause I always had a million things on my plate.

This time we got it setup though.

And it was well worth it.

Ben Marcoux (a Copy Accelerator member) ran the re-targeting for us and brought us an extra 63 sales.

One thing that was cool, is that we did NOT override the affiliate cookie on retargeting.

So affiliates got a bunch of extra sales because of our retargeting efforts.

Which is nice for them.

You always want to go out of your way to help your affiliates.

So retargeting was a big win.

And I’m gonna make sure to do more of it anytime I’m selling something.

2.  Make affiliates compete against each other

Each day of the launch, I sent out an affiliate leaderboard to all the affiliates showing how many sales they made.

The top spot bounced back and forth between Stefan Georgi and Kelly Felix for most of the launch.

Then on the last day, Ian Stanley made a bunch of sales and pulled out the win (just barely).

I think Ian had 50 sales, Stefan had 48 and Kelly had 47.

So it was damn close.

I can tell you that sending out this affiliate leaderboard each day was a big motivator for the affiliates.

Why?

Cause they’re all competitive.

And they want to win.

The reality is that the $10k or so they earned in affilliate commissions doesn’t mean a whole lot to these guys.

Sure it’s good money…

But beating the other affiliates – and having the bragging rights of winning the competition – is really what drove them to promote so hard (I’m the exact same way, so I’m quite familiar with this feeling).

So the affiliate leaderboard was well worth the time it took to put together each morning.

I’ll be sure to do that for any future launches as well.

Alright, let’s do one more…

3. Deadline sales trump all

I’m not a launch expert by any means…

But I’ve run 3 launches now and there’s one thing that happens every single time…

People buy like crazy before the deadline.

Every single launch this happens.

The cart is about to close, and people come pouring in to snap-up the offer before it closes.

Out of the 336 sales we did, I’d say close to 100 of those came in the final 5-6 hours.

That’s the power of deadlines.

And it’s why the more emails you send at the end of the launch, the more money you make.

This works for internal launches…

It works for affiliate launches…

People will always wait until the last minute to buy, so you need to promote HARD at the end.

So there ya have it…

A few insights from my launch.

BTW if you’re new to my list, a big “welcome” to you.

I write this email each morning from my kitchen table.

And it’s read by all the heavy-hitters in our space like Craig Clemens, Mike Geary, Mark Ford, David Deutsch and more…

So I’m glad to have ya onboard.

If you ever want to opt-out you can do that here.

But I think you’ll dig this email.

I mostly talk about copy and entrepreneurship.

I also share the struggles I go through being an entrepreneur.

I talk about my self doubt…

Or how I fall back into my work-a-holic ways…

Sometimes my emails are quite personal.

But that’s my goal.

I do well at this.

But I don’t have it all figured out.

So I like to share that kind of stuff.

Anyways…

If you’re new here, glad to have you as a reader.

Feel free to reply to this and say hello if you’d like.

I actually read all the replies.

Enjoy your Thursday…
