Every Sunday I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.

Sometimes these things are about business…

Sometimes they’re about life…

And other times they’re just completely random.

So with that said…

Let’s hop into the first random thought on my mind this morning…

1.  They say that “money changes people” but my experience has been that it changes the people around you more than it changes yourself

Back in 2005 I had a lot of friends that I’m not friends with today.

Some of these friends I lost simply because we were on different paths…

Others I lost because they couldn’t handle how I was changing as a person.

One friend in particular (Jeremy) had a lot of resentment about me being successful.

He liked it better when I was broke…

So when I started making good money this rubbed him the wrong way.

He expected me to loan him money…

And to help him out…

Which I did from time to time…

However…

I could always feel the resentment he had for me.

He didn’t like seeing me change…

He wanted me to stay where I was.

This rift eventually lead to us not being friends anymore.

I could name a bunch of friends and family members I’ve had this happen with.

Money didn’t change me…

But it certainly changed how some people view me.

Which isn’t fun…

But I’m starting to think that’s just part of what happens when you change.

Alright let’s hop to the second thought on my mind this morning…

2.  This week is a good time to plan out your 2022 goals, and figure out exactly what it is that you want

Last year I got serious about having a vision for how I wanted my 2021 to go.

Normally I only set business/financial goals…

But this year I had goals for all areas of my life such as…

-Financial/Business

-Overall work schedule and vacations

-Social life

-Things that fulfill me

-Relationships/dating

-Charitable donations

-Things I want to work on with myself

So for example…

My social life one looked like this…

– Have 2-3 parties at my house this year to meet new people

– organize a dinner each month w/ friends

– host cocktail mixers for creators/entrepreneurs

This was a goal of mine for multiple reasons…

But the main one was to simply meet cool people that I wouldn’t have normally met.

Anyways…

Having these goals broken down like this was super helpful.

It gave me a roadmap for what to do…

And what to focus on…

So I’d highly suggest taking some time this week (before the holiday craziness) to set your goals for 2022.

Alright let’s do one more of these and wrap things up…

3.  You’ll always get the best results from figuring out your ONE thing and going all-in on that

Out of all the things I do in my business, writing this daily email is the most important thing I do.

Why?

Because it creates a bond between you and I.

It gets people to buy my products…

And attend our Copy Accelerator events…

Everything I do stems from my email list.

So writing to you each day is my #1 priority.

Which is not easy…

It takes a lot of focus.

I get enticed by making Youtube videos sometimes…

Or starting a podcast…

But the reality is that all of that would be a distraction.

Email is what moves the needle for me.

And it’s what I’m best at.

So that’s where my focus is.

And I’d encourage you to think this way as well.

What’s your ONE thing?

What’s the thing you should be focusing on over everything else?

It’s not easy to just focus on ONE thing…

But in my opinion, it’s the most profitable thing you can do.
