Every Sunday morning I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.

Sometimes these things are about business…

Sometimes they’re about life…

And other times they’re just truly random.

So with that said…

Let’s jump into the first thing on my mind this morning.

1. Consistency, not perfection, should be your goal

Back in December I set a goal to start walking 10,000 steps a day.

Why?

Because I know it’s good for me.

And because I found myself barely logging 3000 steps on most days.

So I decided I was gonna do 10,000 a day.

And I’ve come pretty close to hitting that since then.

My December stats wound up averaging 8900 steps a day over the month.

And that includes a few days where I was sick and only got like 1000 steps in.

So overall, I’m happy with that.

I was consistent.

And I damn near 3x’d my usual steps in a day.

Which is a big improvement.

I didn’t average 10,000 a day like I set out to do.

But I’m ok with that.

Cause what you really want is progress and consistency, not perfection.

That’s a good motto to keep in mind.

Cause it applies to pretty much everything in your life.

Alright let’s hop to the second thing on my mind this morning…

2.  Simplicity wins when it comes to eating right

I’m a big fan of eating healthy…

My diet right now is basically some type of meat/chicken/game meat and then for carbs I’ll either have fruit, rice, or sweet potatoes.

I’d say this makes up 85% of my diet.

For some people that might be boring…

But not for me.

I love it.

These are all foods I like…

And eating like this is simple.

I’m not ever wondering what I should eat…

Or spending hours making a meal.

I just whip up the basics, and I’m good to go.

There’s nothing “sexy” about eating like this, but if you want something that works (which is what I’m after) then simplicity is a must.

Alright let’s hop to the third thing on my mind this morning…

3.  Men lie about the things women care about, and women lie about the things men care about

I was listening to Chris Williamson’s podcast the other day, and he was talking to a researcher who broke down all the things men and women lie about on dating apps.

And the results were pretty interesting…

Men were inclined to lie about the things that women care about – which are height, financial success, and social status.

So guys usually add 1-3 inches to their height…

They make their job sound better than it is…

And they use highly selective pictures of themselves so they appear higher in status than they really are (like posing with a nice car, or on an expensive vacation).

Women on the other hand were more inclined to lie about things around their looks.

So instead of using a recent picture, women are more likely to use a photo from 3 years ago when they were 20 lbs lighter and younger looking…

Women who are overweight will also purposefully crop their photos to put more focus on their boobs and less focus on their figure…

The whole breakdown was fascinating.

But it just goes to show ya that the things we lie about, we lie about for a reason.

Most men aren’t lying about how in touch they are with their feelings…

And most women aren’t lying about how much money they make…

Cause the other sex doesn’t vaue those things as highly…

We lie about the things the other sex values.

Anyways…

I thought that was interesting…

And it just goes to show ya how driven we are by getting approval from the opposite sex (something to keep in mind with your copy).

Alright that’s all I got for today…

I’ll have some info for ya tomorrow and Tuesday on the list building training I’m releasing this week.

So keep your eyes peeled for that…

Enjoy your Sunday,
