Every Sunday morning I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.

Sometimes these things are about business…

Sometimes they’re about money…

And other times they’re just completely random.

So with that said…

Let’s hop into the first thing on my mind this morning…

1.  If you want to be your best, you need down time

For the last few weeks Ive been in Hawaii taking some time off.

I’ve still been writing my daily emails…

And doing about an hour of work in the morning…

But the rest of my day has been non-work.

For me, that’s things like doing yoga, hanging at the beach, paddleboarding etc…

Which has been incredible.

I feel loose.

I feel relaxed.

I’m always reminded of how good I can feel when I take time off.

I need the time off more than I think.

And I feel better when I do it.

Plus…

When I come back to my work, I’m more motivated.

And creative…

I know I pound this drum a lot…

But if you’re not taking time off for yourself, you’re really doing yourself a disservice.

Your mind and your body need it.

Alright let’s jump into the 2nd thought on my mind this morning.

2.  Flying a plane is a lot of fun

Yesterday I went and did a flying lesson on Maui, which was incredible.

I’ve never had any interest in this…

And I don’t particularly enjoy being in airplanes (I tend to feel clostrophobic and get motion sick).

So I was a bit nervous about this…

But it was an absolute blast.

We flew around a bunch of the islands, did a “touch and go” landing, and then my friend that’s with me she flew as well.

I have no idea if I’ll pursue flying more…

But I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Highly recommend it.

Let’s do one more of these…

3.  You should only model someone’s business strategy is you know for sure that it’s working

Last week I had a guy email me who said he had been modeling my “instagram strategy” and wasn’t seeing a lot of results from it.

I wasn’t sure what he was talking about…

So I asked further…

Basically he’s been posting more, sharing personal insights with his followers, and doing more IG stories (similar to what I do).

And he didn’t understand why it wasn’t leading to more sales.

This whole conversation surprised me…

Because the reality is that I don’t use Instagram to make money.

For me Instagram is just fun.

I share some insights on there…

And I use it to keep in touch with people that I meet.

That’s really all it is.

I make $0 from Instagram.

Yet this guy was modeling my “strategy” because he thought I was raking in a bunch of dough from it.

Big mistake.

But that’s a good lesson for you.

Modeling someone’s business that is successful, is super smart.

It’s like a shortcut to know what to do.

However…

It’s important that they are ACTUALLY successful with that strategy.

Like you need to see hard numbers and know that it’s working for them.

There are TONS of people on social media who LOOK like they are successful…

They have nice cars…

They eat at fancy restaurants…

They’re traveling the world…

But the reality is that a lot of these people aren’t making jack shit.

They only look like they are.

Point being…

If you’re gonna model someone, you need to know for sure that what they’re doing is working.

That’s a simple idea…

But it’s one that will save you a lot of headaches if you do it.

Make sense?

I hope so.

Cause that’s all I got for ya today.

Enjoy your Sunday,
