Every Sunday morning I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.

Sometimes these things are about business…

Sometimes they’re about life…

And other times, they’re just completely random.

So with that said…

Let’s hop into the first thing on my mind this morning…

1. Some people are simply high maintence and a pain in the ass – and you don’t want those people as customers, employees, friends or lovers

I remember hearing Dan Kennedy say he had a rule that if he woke up three mornings in a row thinking of the same person and he wasn’t sleeping with that person, that person had to go.

Funny statement…

But there’s a lot of truth in there as well.

I’ve realized in my 39 years on earth, that some people are simply problematic.

Sometimes it’s because they love drama…

Other times it’s because they think they’re special…

Whatever the reason, there are certain people like this, and if you value your sanity, you don’t want these people in your life.

I’ll give you an example…

I used to have a guy on my list who had easily spent over $10k with me over the years.

He bought courses from me…

Came to events I had…

Did coaching with me at one point…

So he was a good customer in terms of spending.

However…

He was NOT a good customer in terms of being low maintence.

Cause he would email me questions multiple times a week…

Then he’d be messaging me on Facebook at all hours of the day.

He was completely overstepping the boundaries of our relationship.

And after gently telling him this, and him promising to be better, guess what he did?

He kept doing it!

So instead of trying to fix him, and worrying about keeping him as a customer, I just cut him off.

I removed him from my email list…

I blocked him from buying on Samcart…

And I blocked him on all social media.

Why?

Because he was a “problem customer”.

Every other customer I have has no problem understanding the relationship we have.

But not this guy.

He thought he deserved access to me whenever he pleased.

So I cut him off.

Point being…

Some people are simply good at being a problem.

And if you let them, these “problem people” will drain you of all your energy, focus and emotions.

This is what they do.

So my advice?

Cut bait with them as soon as you see it.

And find better customers, friends, lovers to spend your time with.

Alright let’s hop to the second thing on my mind this morning…

2. I have a belief that the reason Americans are so fat isn’t because of sodas, sugar, seed oils, carbs or any of that, it’s simply our portion sizes

Eating outside the US is always an eye-opening experience for Americans.

Cause you quickly realize our portions are enormous…

A plate of pasta is much bigger…

There’s more fries in your order…

The Coke you’re served is twice the size…

All this adds up.

I’d bet that your average American probably eats 400-500 more calories a day than your average person in Europe.

And if you multiply that over the course of a year…

Or ten years…

You can understand why we’re so fat.

Those calories add up.

And its interesting, cause most people just mindlessly eat whatever amount of food is put in front of them.

I’d be willing to bet if someone reduced everything we ate by 20%, most people would never even notice it.

You’d just eat like you normally do…

And six months from now you’d be 15 lbs lighter.

So as much as all the stuff like seed oils, processed carbs and sugar is hurting us…

I think that the increase in portion sizes (which has been going on for 40+ years) is the real culprit in the U.S.

Alright…

Let’s hop to the third thing on my mind this morning…

3. If you haven’t watched Chimp Empire on Netflix yet, do yourself a favor and watch it

A few weeks ago I randomly started watching a show on Netflix that chronicles what life is like inside the Ngogo chimp group in Uganda.

This show is incredible.

The camera crew is literally embedded in the forest with the chimps (like 20 feet away) and you get to see all of the families, status wars, hunting trips and even the border patrol they do to fend off rival chimp groups.

I was hooked from the first episode.

And it’s right up my alley cause I love anything to do with psychology, so seeing the psychology of the chimps and how it’s so similar to ours was fascinating.

You get to see the battles between the top males to be the alpha…

You see how status affects which chimps they groom with…

You see how politics affects who gets to eat and who doesn’t when there’s a kill…

It’s fascinating.

And I highly recommend it.

There’s a few shots in the series where you see into the eyes of the chimps, and it’s like you’re looking back at yourself.

You really understand how similar we are…

And why they’re our closest living relatives.

Anyways…

If you haven’t watched the show yet, I can’t recommend it enough.

It’s on Netflix now.

And I bet you’ll be hooked after the first episode like I was.

Alright…

Time to wrap this up…

And get on with my day…

Hope you got a nugget or two from my thoughts this morning.

Enjoy your Sunday.
