Every Sunday morning I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.

Sometimes these things are about life…

Sometimes they’re about business…

And other times they’re just truly random.

So with that said…

Let’s jump into the first thing on my mind this morning.

1.  Naval Ravikant says the 3 most important decisions you’ll make are what you do, where you live, and who you’ll spend your life with

I really like this quote.

It’s simple, yet it nails the important stuff.

Most of our quality of life comes from just a few key decisions.

If you’re doing something for work that you hate, it’s hard to have an enjoyable life.

If you’re in a bad relationship, you could do everything else right, but your life will still be pretty miserable.

And if you have a good relationship, and a job you like, but you live somewhere that you hate, well your quality of life still won’t be great.

Obviously these aren’t easy decisions to make…

But like Naval says, they’re probably the 3 most important ones you’ll make in your life.

So it’s worth it to give them some real thought (and not just accepting what’s easy or conveinent for you).

Alright let’s hop to the 2nd thing on my mind this morning…

2.  Every person has different things that they love to splurge on

What people spend money on is always fascinating to me.

For example, I own around 10 different watches.

However, I don’t own any “baller” watches.

I don’t have any Rolex’s or Patek’s.

That’s just not my thing.

I think my most expensive watch is like $400.

However…

When it comes to suits, I do like to splurge on suits.

In my closet, I have two custom suits that I paid around $6k for.

Considering you can get a nice suit for $500 at Suit Supply, this is a lot to spend on suits.

But for me, suits is something I don’t mind splurging on (and to be honest, I don’t know why I’m comfortable splurging on a suit but not on a watch).

Point being, most people have something they love to splurge on…

Could be food, booze, cars, golf, make-up, strip clubs, shoes, handbags, boats, their dog…whatever it is.

We all have something that we love to splurge on.

So it’s worth being in touch with yourself…

And understanding the areas you like to splurge.

Alright let’s do one more of these…

3.  I’m prepping to take a full week off in April (no work, no email, no nothing)

I’ve mentioned a few times that my goal is to take 3 non-working vacations each year.

Well last year I took those vacations…

But wound-up working for at least an hour each day while I was there.

So they weren’t true “non-work” vacations.

However, in April I’m going to Mexico for a week and I’ll be taking the full week off.

I won’t be writing this email…

I won’t be checking email…

I won’t be on Slack…

For most entrepreneurs this is terrifying.

I remember the first time I did a no-work vacation, I thought everything was gonna full apart without me.

But that wasn’t the case.

In fact, nothing happened.

I didn’t miss anything.

No emergencies came up.

And guess what?

I felt amazing taking a full week off without even thinking about work.

It took me a day or two to get used to it.

But once, I did I was able to relax and simply enjoy the time off.

Which was much needed.

Anyways…

I preach taking time off a lot cause I’ve run myself into the ground too many times from NOT taking time off.

So if you’re not taking time off (i.e. non-working time off)

I suggest you do.

Your body and your mind will thank you for it.

Alright, I need to wrap this up.

Hope you got a nugget or two from this.

Enjoy your Sunday…
