Every Sunday I like to share 3 random things that are on my mind.

Sometimes these things are about business…

Sometimes they’re about what’s going on in the world…

And other times they are completely random.

So with that said…

Let’s dive into the 3 random things on my mind this morning…

1.  I’m pretty convinced I’m not going to get COVID at this point

When COVID first hit, I was super strict about not being around anyone.

I stopped going to the gym…

I stopped hanging out at friend’s houses…

I didn’t eat out…

However around October-November of last year, I started to loosen up on that.

I frankly just hit a wall.

And was feeling very isolated and lonely.

Mentally I knew I couldn’t keep it up.

So I had a few friends over for dinner…

I even went to a party that was indoor/outdoor (before that I was only doing outdoor stuff).

And then over the last few months I’ve expanded that further by going out to bars, and flying to Utah to snowboard.

So I’ve slowly been doing more stuff…

And at this point, I’ve been in the same room with at least 16 people that I know who have gotten COVID.

So we were in the same room when they were actively passing the virus on.

Yet, I still haven’t gotten it (at least not that I know of).

So I’m starting to think I’m just one of the lucky ones who is not going to get it…

Or I’ve already had it and I didn’t know it.

Who knows at this point…

But either way, I’m looking forward to things getting back to normal this summer.

Alright let’s jump to the second thought on my mind this morning…

2.  The second half of my 30’s have been very different from the first half of my 30’s

I mentioned this in my recent birthday email about  “37 things I’ve learned in 37 years” and it seemed to connect with a lot of people in their late 30’s and early 40’s.

I’m not really sure why my late 30’s have felt so different.

Cause for me personally there hasn’t been any huge changes in my life (like kids or marriage).

I still live a pretty similar life to what I did in my early 30’s.

However my views on things…

And my focus on the “bigger picture” has certainly changed.

I don’t think I’m as impulsive as I used to be.

And I don’t let my ego get in the way nearly as much as I used to.

I feel like I value things like friends and the experiences with them a lot more.

Not sure if this is just something that comes along with experience…

And getting wiser as we age.

But I certainly feel like my late 30’s has been very different from my early 30’s.

Alright let’s do one more…

3.  As you make more money, your standards will change

I remember back when I was like 26, a buddy of mine bought a $80 t-shirt from Rag and Bone.

I couldn’t believe it.

I thought he was insane for spending that much money on a t-shirt.

And I kept telling myself that no matter how much money I had, I’d never be the kind of guy who would spend $80 on a t-shirt.

Well, 11 years later I can tell you my opinion has changed on this.

Cause now I’m the dude who has no problem spending $80, or even $150 on a t-shirt.

If I like the shirt, I’m gonna get it.

And I’ve noticed this kind of thing has happened to me in multiple areas of my life.

Once I started making more money, my standards changed.

I could never go back to the apartments I lived in 10 years ago…

Or the car I drove 10 years ago…

Or hell, even some of the friends I hung around with 10 years ago…

I’ve “leveled-up” in all those areas.

And what used to seem “ridiculous and far fetched” is now pretty normal to me.

Which is what you want to happen.

You want your big goals…

And big dreams to become normal.

So anytime something that used to seem “crazy” starts feeling normal to you, that’s a good sign.

You’re leveling up.

Make sense?

I hope so.

Cause that’s all I got for you today

Enjoy your Sunday.
