Every Sunday I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.
Sometimes these things are about business…
Sometimes they’re about life…
And other times they’re just completely random.
So with that said…
Let’s jump into the first thing on my mind this morning…
1. Everything worthwhile takes time
I posted this on my Instagram the other day and a bunch of people resonated with it.
It’s a lesson that I’m slowly learning.
The things that matter, take time.
It takes time to build something great…
It takes time to build a deep connection with someone…
It takes time to figure out who you are and what you want.
This isn’t what anyone wants to hear.
Cause we all want instant results…
But the more you can accept the idea that the things that matter in life take time, the happier you’ll be.
2. I’m feeling a bit better about the rut I’ve been in
I mentioned in an email last week that I’ve been struggling the last two months or so.
I can’t pinpoint why I’m in a rut…
But just feeling less motivated than usual…
And what “drives” me feels like it’s changing.
It’s a weird feeling.
I think part of it is simply my age, and late 30’s being a big transition period.
It’s quite different from my early 30’s.
But I really don’t know.
Although I felt better this week than I did previously, so maybe I’ll get through this soon.
Alright let’s do one more of these…
3. Communication is so important
The other day my business partner Stefan and I had a call and laid out a bunch of stuff about the direction of our mastermind.
About halfway through the call I realized the “old me” would not have been able to have this call.
Why?
Cause I used to really struggle with voicing what I wanted.
I always went along with everyone else (even if it wasnt what I wanted).
I had no idea how to give and take…
Honestly, I was a shitty partner back in the day.
But just like any relationship, communication is super important.
You have to be able to voice your frustrations…
There can’t be judggements.
You can’t let things boil beneath the surface.
You have to be open and transparent.
This is what good partnerships are about.
That’s a lesson that’s taken me a while to learn…
But one that’s been super important.
So there ya go…
