Every Sunday morning I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.

Sometimes these things are about business…

Sometimes they’re about life…

And other times they’re just completely random.

So with that said…

Let’s hop to the first thing on my mind this morning.

1.  One of the best things I’ve done this year for my business is planning things out in 90-day chunks

I never used to be a planner.

I always just “wung it”.

But over the last few years, I’ve gotten a lot better at planning things out in 90-day chunks.

A good example of this is my promo calendar for my email list.

As of today, I have every email promo I’m going to do (either affiliate offers or my own offers) penciled in through the end of July.

Obviously some things change on the calendar…

But overall, it’s incredibly helpful for me to know what I need to be working on, and what I have coming up.

This may sound very basic to you if you’re detailed and you already plan things out…

But like I said I never used to be a planner, so something as simple as planning out 3 months ahead (while also having a larger vision for the year) has been incredibly helpful for me.

So I highly suggest doing something similar if you’re not already…

Let’s hop to the second thought on my mind this morning…

2.  I keep saying I’m not going to make Youtube content, but it continues to be a thought in my mind

My main focus right now is my email list.

However…

I continue to play around with ideas for Youtube in my head.

Why?

Because I want to be a mentor to all the upcoming copywriters and marketers out there.

And I know if I make good content on Youtube, it’ll help me do that.

Youtube will help me reach new people…

And it will also help the current people on my list…

So it’s very tempting.

But I’m also aware that it’s a lot of work.

It involves a lot of planning…

Tons of filming…

Lots of editing…

So I don’t want to put all that work in unless I’m doing something I really enjoy, and that’s really helping people…

It’s a big decision…

So I’m really fleshing it out to see if I want to do it before jumping in head first.

More to come on this in the future if I make a decision…

For now, let’s hop to the third thought on my mind this morning…

3. It’s really hard to improve things if you’re not tracking what you’re doing

I mentioned last week that one thing I do with my email promos is track how each one does…

So I analyze which emails worked best in the promo…

I make notes on which topics really hit (and which ones missed)…

I do this for every promo.

And it’s super helpful.

But I also track things like this in other areas of my life as well…

For example…

– what I’m eating (calories and macros)

– what my workouts are like (tracking all the sets/reps and amount of time)

– what my sleep is like (I mostly focus on deep sleep and total sleep)

– how many steps I get in each day

– what my blood work says

One thing that’s interesting is that I am well aware that tracking all of this is not fun to do.

It can be a royal pain in the ass (especially with food and calories).

But I’ve learned that if I want to get better results than I’m currently getting (with my sleep, my body composition, my business etc), then I need to track things.

Cause that’s how you know what’s working (and what’s not working).

Without tracking you’re just guessing…

And you ain’t gonna get better results if you’re just guessing.

So my advice?

If you’re serious about getting better results with something, you should track it as much as possible.

It’s certainly not fun…

Or “sexy”…

But it’s essential to improving your results.

Alright, I need to wrap this up…

Hope you got a nugget or two from this…

Enjoy your Sunday,
