Every Sunday I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.

Sometimes these things are about business…

Sometimes they’re about life…

And other times they’re just truly random…

So with that said, let’s hop into the first thing on my mind this morning.

1.  If you find gold every time you dig in one spot, then keep digging in that spot

I’ve been really honed in on the things that are working to my list.

And for me that’s email marketing.

I’m already planning to do a training on building an email list…

And I mentioned before that I’m gonna do some type of email copy mentorship in 2023.

I’m also working on a lead gen free report that will be an email copy “cheat sheet”.

This is all the result of paying attention to what my list wants…

Everytime I do something on email marketing, people show up in droves.

So I’m gonna keep doing more of it.

I’ve talked about this concept many, many times in my emails, but damn it’s so powerful

When you find something that’s a winner, don’t go away from it and look for other ideas…

Double down on it.

And find more ways to do what’s working.

Let’s jump to the second thought on my mind this morning…

2.  If I was 18 today, I would skip going to college and focus on working for an entrepreneur that’s doing what I want to do

Nearly every week I get an email from someone who’s in highschool asking me what I think they should do after the graduate.

It’s hard to give advice without knowing exact situations…

But if I was 18 today (and knowing what I know now) here’s what I’d do…

I’d skip going to college…

And I’d find a successful entrepreneur to intern with or work for.

I’d do everything possible to get in with this guy.

I’d scrape and claw and make it happen.

And if it meant working for free, or doing the guys laundry on top of it, I’d do it.

Why?

Because I want to learn the skills this person has.

And I know if I work with them for 2-3 years, I’ll be miles ahead of everyone else my age.

I’ll have real skills.

And I’ll be setting myself up for the long term.

So if I was 18 again, I’d skip the whole college thing and just do this.

I would however still live off-campus at a college though.

That way I could still have the college experience.

I’d be able to party…

And make friends…

I think all that stuff is super valuable when you’re 18 and out on your own for the first time.

So I’d enjoy the social aspects of college…

But I just wouldn’t go to school.

Obviously this is not the right path for everyone…

But if you’re set on doing your own thing…

Or starting a business someday…

I think this is they best way to do it.

Alright let’s do one more of these…

3.  I don’t envy the huge undertaking Elon Musk has on his hands with moderating content on Twitter

The idea of unlimited “free speech” on Twitter is probably never going to work.

It’ll be overrun with porn…

Bots…

And people making threats…

It’ll turn into a hell-hole pretty quickly.

On the other hand, I think Twitter does need a wider variety of people on their moderation team.

They need older people (not just a bunch of 20 and 30 year olds)…

They need people of different political backgrounds…

They need people who have different views on guns, education, economics, abortion etc…

They need people from different socio-economic backgrounds.

They need all this.

You can’t just have your moderation team be a bunch of 24 year-olds who grew up in Silicon Valley

That’s no bueno.

I think a more diverse moderation team should be a priority.

I know Musk has already mentioned this…

So my big thing is I’m curious if he can pull it off.

Cause it will NOT be easy.

Content moderation is a fine line.

And any missteps he has, he’s gonna be taking heat from the media.

So I don’t envy the position he’s in.

But I’m curious to see if he can pull it off.

Anyways…

Those are just a few of the things on my mind this morning.

Hope you got a nugget or two from this.

Have a good Sunday…

And happy halloween.
