Every Sunday I like to write about 3 random things that are on my mind.

Sometimes these things are about business…

Sometimes they’re about life…

And other times they’re just completley random.

So with that said…

Let’s jump into the first thing on my mind this morning.

1.  Most people won’t act without a deadline

Yesterday was the last day of the promotion I did for Tanner and Jerrod’s email course.

Here’s the day-by-day breakdown for the sales I made…

Day 1 – 4

Day 2 – 3

Day 3 – 1

Day 4 – 1

Day 5 – 20

What do you see here?

Obviously the last day was the best.

Nearly 65% of the sales for the entire promo came on the last day.

Why?

Cause there was a deadline.

Most people will NOT act without a deadline.

It’s easier for them to just do nothing.

But when there’s a deadline…

It forces people to take action.

Which is why 65% of my sales came in on the last day.

Point being, deadlines work.

So use them as much as you can.

2.  It’s your business, you don’t have to put up with shit you don’t like

On Thursday, Jerrod Harlan texted me and let me know that one of the people who bought their course insta-refunded it.

Which means they bought the course…

And within an hour refunded it.

Obviously this isn’t enough time to go through the course.

So this guy was intent on doing this from the start.

Which is quite shitty.

And not the type of person I want on my list.

So I sent Jerrod a text back…

“Send me his email so I can remove him from my list”

He texted me the guy’s email a few minutes later.

And I immediately had my assistant ban the guy from my list.

Now why did I do this?

Cause in my experience, people like this are just not worth the hassle.

If he buys something else from me in the future, there’s a good chance he’ll do the same thing.

If he comes to an event, he’ll probably be a pain-in-the-ass for me (and the other attendees).

At the end of the day, it’s just not worth it.

There’s plenty of GOOD buyers out there.

No reason to waste time on the crappy ones.

Alright, let’s do one more of these…

3. You have to put yourself first

Over the weekend, I called one of my good buddies from Ohio to catch up.

He’s married and has 2 kids…

And he was telling me that he had a realization that he has been completely ignoring his own needs.

Everything is about his kids…

Or helping his wife…

But he’s not doing anything for himself.

He used to be really into working out, but he stopped doing that.

He also used to spend time with friends, but hasn’t done that for over a year.

Everything he does is either work or it’s for his family.

He doesn’t take any time for himself.

Which he’s now realizing is a mistake.

And it’s something I can empathize with.

I used to be the same way.

I put everyone else’s needs before my own.

Family, girlfriends, clients etc…

They all came first.

And it made me miserable.

When you don’t put yourself first you have no boundaries…

And you have no sense of who you are.

And here’s the reality…

The best way to help the people around you (friends, spouse etc…) is to put yourself first.

Cause if you’re not at your best…

Then you can’t be there for them in the best capacity either.

Make sense?

I hope so.

Cause that’s all I got for ya today…

Enjoy your Sunday,
