A young lad from England named Noah, writes in and asks if I have any business advice for him as he gets started as a copywriter.

——-

Hey mate, I’ve been going through your Youtube videos and see that you’ve been quite successful with copywriting.

I’m currently 22, just started copywriting, and wondering if you have any advice that you understand now that you wish you knew at my age.

——-

Ooooo I love questions like this.

Let’s see, advice to my younger self?

-stay away from that girl Cinnamon who said she was just a “cocktail server” at the strip club

-stop wearing Ed Hardy shirts, you look like an idiot

-those shots of Jameson you take at 3 AM before the bar closes are a terrible idea

Oh wait, you mean copywriting advice?

Ah yes…

That makes more sense…

Well, as far as copywriting goes, I have a bunch of advice I could give you…

Things like…

Find a good coach or mentor as soon as you can…

Put in a ton of reps and write everyday…

Both those tidbits would be a big help at your age.

But I’ll also add another one…

And this is something no one ever told me back when I was younger (but I understand it now)…

And that’s the fact that over the next year or so, it would be very smart of you to start building your own email list.

Why?

Cause it’s a real asset that you own…

And it’ll make you money for years to come…

I wish I knew that back when I was younger.

Instead I was too busy trading hours for dollars…

And putting my time into things that had no scalability…

I would have been much better off putting my time into something that could scale (like an email list).

I’ll give you an example of what I mean…

Lets say you start an email list this year, and you build it up to 1000 subscribers…

Those 1000 subscribers might make you $10,000 for the year.

Which is a good start…

And then next year, you decide to put more focus on growing your list, and you get it to 10,000 subscribers…

Now those 10,000 subscribers might make you around $300,000.

So now you’re making real money.

And you have an asset that you can continue to build.

And here’s the best part…

It’s all scalable.

Whether you’re writing an email to 200 people or 200,000 people it takes the same amount of time.

This is the beauty of an email list.

It’s infinitely scalable.

And with an email list you can make a cool 6 or 7 figures with just yourself running it (no big team needed).

So if I had to go back and give my younger self some advice…

This would be it.

Start building your own email list…

And stick with it.

Grow it to 100 subscribers…

Then 1000…

Then 10,000…

Cause if you do that…

You’ll have a REAL asset that will kick off consistent cash to you every single month…

So there ya go…

That’s my advice.

Do with it what you will.

However….

If you want some help building an email list…

Be sure to tune into the email I’m gonna send ya Monday about a new training I’m doing with Ning Li on “how to build a massive email list with low-priced “pocket change” offers”.

This one’s gonna be super good.

So if that floats your boat…

Be on the lookout for an email from me on Monday.
