One thing I’ve noticed is that what I want in regards to my business has changed a lot as I’ve gotten older…
Case in point…
When I was in my early 20’s and I was a poker affiliate, my only goal was to make enough money to not have to get a real job.
I didn’t care what I had to do…
Or how much I had to work…
If I didn’t have to have a real job, I was happy.
Then when I hit my early 30’s and I was making 6-figures a year, what I wanted from my business changed again…
It wasn’t enough to simply not have a real job…
I wanted to increase my income.
So at the time I was making around $150k-$200k a year.
And my goal was to increase that to $500k a year…
And eventually $1 million a year.
So my focus was mostly on growing my business (and my income).
And I still didn’t really care about what I had to do to make that happen.
If I had to work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, I would do it back then.
Fast forward to today, and my views on what I want with my business have changed again.
Now-a-days I want things to be simple.
Sure I want to make good money…
But, I want to make good money doing things I actually enjoy.
So I have no interest in…
– having a big team that I need to manage
– running complicated processes
– being on Zoom calls all day
None of that stuff interests me.
Which is why I’m building my business so that I don’t have to do those things.
That way I can make good money…
Have the impact I want to have…
And I’ll actually look forward to getting up each morning and running my business.
This is obviously very different from what I wanted when I was 22…
But it’s what fits me now…
And what I want at this point in my life.
Anyways…
I’d highly recommend giving some thought to what you want from your business…
