A question from Jon D. came in a few days ago asking if building a list is possible when no one knows who you are…

Can you build – and maintain – a list without being an expert or authority?

The short answer is “yes”.
In fact, my old business partner Allen Baler is a shining example of this.
Back in 2010 Allen and his wife started their survival business without either of them being experts on survival…
The first product they created was an info-product called Power4Patriots…
And it showed you how to use solar power to cut your electric bill and stay off the grid.
It was a damn good product…
And something that market was yearning for…
But I can tell ya from knowing Allen for close to 12 years, that he is the furthest thing from a “survival expert”.
He isn’t canning food in his garage…
Or setting up 55 gallon drums to capture rain on his property…
That ain’t him.
He’s just a normal dude who was sick of being an affiliate, and wanted to have his own business.
Thus Power4Patriots was born.
And if I remember correctly, that first year he put like 180,000 people onto his list.
Which was really smart…
Cause once he had a good list…
He started making a ton of dough selling them everything from survival food to air purifiers to water filters.
It was brilliant what he did.
And that business is still crushing today.
I don’t know his exact numbers, but if I had to guess, they’re probably doing over 100 mil a year at this point.
So he’s makin some bank…
And he’s doing it without being an expert…
Or an authority on survival…
And here’s the thing…
Allen ain’t the only one who’s doing well without being an expert.
Jordan Hall dominates the women’s relationship market, and he’s not an authority on love…
Perry Belcher crushes it in the gun niche, and he’s not even a gun nut…
Jonathan Boyd has built a huge list in the guitar training niche, and while he’s a good guitar player, he wasn’t a “name” or an authority when he entered the niche.
I could go on and on with examples like this…
But you get the point.
Sure being an authority ain’t gonna hurt you…
But it’s not needed.
There’s plenty of people running lists and making huge money without being “known” or being an expert in those niches.
So if you want to have your own list…
