“I don’t know what I want to do.  All I know is that I don’t want to end up working in a factory like Dad”

I remember saying this to my mom when I was a senior in highschool.

It was just me and her, sitting at the dinner table…

We were talking about what my major was going to be in college.

I had no ideas…

No plans…

I just knew that I didn’t want to end up like my dad.

Cause my dad worked 12-hours a day in a hot factory, doing pretty mindless work.

His company made rubber conveyor belting for the coal industry.

And his job was to make sure that each belt was loaded on the line, and cut properly.

12 hours a day he did this.

And in the summer he did it in 105 degree heat.

Sounded like a nightmare to me.

So my only goal was to NOT have to do that.

What’s funny looking back now is that I didn’t even realize there were other job options out there.

My dad worked in a factory…

And my mom was a waitress for most of my childhood.

That was my entire reality for jobs.

I didn’t know that people started businesses.

Or that you could be a copywriter.

My view of work was very blue-collar.

You picked a job that paid decent, and you worked your ass off.

That’s all I knew.

It wasn’t until I was exposed to the whole online marketing world that I really saw what was possible.

My first mentor, Jeremy Enke, blew my mind when I found out he was making 6-figures a year with affiliate sites.

I had no idea that was possible.

He was doing it from home…

And this was his full-time job.

That was so foreign to me at the time.

But Jeremy opened my eyes to that.

And being around people who “open my eyes” has been a huge part of my success.

Why?

Because it’s easy to stay stuck in your reality of “what’s possible”.

If you have a $2 million dollar business, it’s hard to imagine that you could have a $20 million dollar business.

And if you have a $20 million dollar business, it’s hard to imagine that you could have a $100 million dollar business.

But the only way you make that jump is by being exposed to it.

You have to believe it’s possible first.

And the best way to do that is to surround yourself with people who are already doing it.

Cause once you do that…

The “next level” becomes normal to you.

It doesn’t seem impossible.

It seems like the next logical step.

That’s what happened to me.

It’s how I went from a kid who thought my only job opportunity was working in a factory like my dad…

To a guy who wound-up a multi-millionaire by the age of 32.

That all happened because I got out of my own reality…

And exposed myself to what’s possible.

It’s a simple idea…

But one that can have a big payoff in the long run.

I suggest you make it a priority in your life as well.
