One of the things I’ve always admired about Ben Settle is just how ruthless he is about kicking bad customers out of his orbit.

And after sitting next to Ben at the Titans mastermind, I think he rubbed off on me.

Cause now-a-days I’m all about ex-communicating bad customers.

For example…

Stefan and I had a guy who recently signed up for our $30,000 Copy Accelerator mastermind and after a month he tried to weasel out of the program.

Which was surprising…

Cause he was very active in the group.

And Stefan was helping him dial-in a bunch of his copy.

But despite all that, he still wanted out…

So he sent us an email and came up with every excuse in the book for why he had to leave…

Apparently he had a new chronic illness that just sprung up…

He also mentioned that he might be leaving the world of “copywriting” forever…

Honestly, I didn’t buy any of it.

Sounded like a bunch of BS.

But that’s not even the point.

The point is that Copy Accelerator is a minimum 12-month committment.

Stefan and I invest our time and energy in our members for a full 12 months…

So we expect the same from them.

And this guy was well aware of the 12-month comittment.

We make it VERY clear before someone signs up.

In fact Stefan and I actively discourage people from signing up who think they might be the kind of person who is onto something else 3 months from now.

So this guy knew the drill…

Yet, he still tried to weasel out of the program.

So after a few emails back and forth between us, Stefan and I came to the conclusion that not only do we NOT want this guy’s money…

We also want nothing to do with him.

Period.

So after that exchange he got removed from my email list.

And I also removed him from our “Justin & Stefan Talk Copy” Facebook group.

He won’t be able to buy any courses I put out in the future.

Or come to any of our events.

He has been erased from my world.

Which is not good for him.

Cause this is a guy who I referred numerous $15k copywriting jobs to in the past.

You’d think he wouldn’t want to ruin that relationship with me…

But he did.

And so now he’s been ex-communicated.

Maybe he won’t regret it…

Maybe he will…

Who knows…

But I do know that getting rid of problem customers like this is smart.

Cause they’re never worth it.

And if you let em hang around, they’ll suck more energy out of you than they’re worth.

Best to just let them go.

That’s what ole’ Ben Settle taught me.

That’s all I got for today.

I gotta run and catch a flight to LA.

Enjoy your Monday,

– Justin
