I’m struggling to write about anything other than the Coronavirus right now.

It’s the only thing on people’s minds.

So a few thoughts on where I see this going…

– If you saw a dip in sales this week, don’t freak out.  Everyone was focused on stocking up on food and their kids schools getting canceled.   Buying your turmeric supplement was probably the last thing on their mind.

– On that same note,  I personally believe this is just the beginning.  Economically this is going to be a disaster for the United States.  Look at all of the industries taking a beating already…

Restaurants…

Airlines…

Hotels…

Travel agencies…

Bars…

Uber/Lyft drivers…

Events…

I could go on an on.

All of these businesses are losing money.

And at some point they’ll start laying people off.

Those people that get laid off (who live paycheck to paycheck) will struggle to pay their rent, buy groceries etc…

I made a post all about this on my FB page here.

But overall I think it’s gonna get ugly.

And it’s not gonna be a one week thing…

I think the economic impact of this is gonna last 12-18 months.

And the corona stuff will be at least 6 months.

– In terms of some good news, a lot of the business owners I’ve talked to have said that sales held steady last week and not much change.

So that’s good.

I do have a hunch that with everyone home, and on their phones all the time, online purchases will increase.

People are going to get bored and buy shit.

So while brick-and-mortar shops will take a huge hit, I think online will actually increase.

– Since I’m one of the immunocompromised people (Crohn’s disease), I’m actually making plans to get an Airbnb out in the country for 30+ days.

Seems a little drastic right now, but with as fast as shit is moving, a few days from now that might look like a no-brainer for someone in my situation.

I’ll share more on that as I make that decision.

Not sure if I have anything else to add to this.

It’s been a weird week for sure.

And reality is setting in for a lot of people that our lives for the forseeable future are going to be much different.

But I also believe we’ll get through this.

We always do.

The stock market will eventually recover.

Businesses will eventually prosper again.

It may take some time…

But it’ll happen.

I truly believe that.

That’s all I got for ya today.

Get outside and enjoy some fresh air.
