This is a re-print of one of my favorite emails I wrote back in September. 

It’s all about a marketing  secret that Ramit Sethi and Dave Ramsey use to make a lot of dough.

A few months ago when I went to Ramit Sethi’s book tour, I was reminded of a very important marketing lesson…

Like attracts like.

And here’s what I mean by that…

Out of the 200 people who were at Ramit’s book tour, I’d say at least 40% of them were Indian.

Which is obviously a higher percentage of Indians than you’d normally see in Austin.

But Ramit has a BIG Indian following…

Why?

Well, because he’s Indian.

I’m sure his stories of being an immigrant and his parents pinching pennies probably resonates deeply with them.

Now compare that with someone like Dave Ramsey…

Dave Ramsey and Ramit teach similar stuff (personal finance)…

However their followers are VERY different.

I’m willing to bet if you went to a Dave Ramsey book tour, the number of Indians would drop drastically…

And the number of middle aged Christians would skyrocket.

Why?

Like attracts like.

This happens everywhere in our business. 

I see the same thing in my coaching programs.

When Stefan and I started Copy Accelerator it was not targeted to any specific niche. 

However, about 50% of the people in the group happen to run a health or supplement business.  

Why?

Stefan and I are both known for being damn good at scaling offers in the health space.

So those people wanted to learn from us.

Again, like attracts like.

I could go on and on with examples of this…

But the point is…

This same thing is happening in your business already whether you’re aware of it or not.

And if you’re smart…

You can capitalize on it.

Just like Ramit shares stories about being an immigrant in an Indian family…

And Dave Ramsey shares stories about being a screw-up and then finding salvation through Jesus…

You can do the same thing.

With the right stories you can intentionally attract MORE of the people that are already pre-disposed to be attracted to your message.

And once you do that, it’s like rocket fuel for your business.
