I was reminded at our event that the idea of “owning your customer” is complete bullshit.

And here’s what I mean by that…

Currently, we have over 250+ members in Copy Accelerator.

And a large majority of those members are ALSO in other programs as well…

So they’re in groups like Copy Chief…

Ian Stanley’s 90 Days To Freedom…

Ben Settle’s newsletter…

They aren’t exclusively our customer.

Why?

Because good buyers buy from a LOT of different people.

I know I do.

I’ve purchased things from Ryan Deiss, Brian Kurtz, Clayton Makepeace, Carline Anglade Cole, Ben Settle etc…

I’m not just one person’s customer.

And whether you’re aware of it or not, this is what happens in every niche.

The best buyers buy from lots of people.

So the idea that you can get a customer, and you can keep them exclusively in your “world” is bullshit.

That’s not the way it works.

Women that buy Christian Loubotin heels don’t just own Christian Loubotin heels.

They have a whole closet full of heels with every brand from Steve Madden to Versace.

Point being…

Most people are “too tight” with their customers.

And they waste a lot of time…

And effort…

Trying to keep their buyers in their world (and away from their competitors).

The reality is that the best buyers are going to buy from YOU and also from your competitors.

That’s what good buyers do.

So keep that in mind.

And enjoy your Saturday.
