For the last few days, I’ve been giving you a sneak peek into how I created my Black Friday offer.

On Tuesday I told you all about the mega-bonus I’m giving away with my Black Friday offer…

Which is a ticket to my $2000 Email Experts event in January.

In this email, I’m gonna breakdown my thought process behind making the Email Experts event as appealing as possible to my list…

Sound good?

Let’s dive in…

So with an event, there’s a few things that are really important…

1.  Who you get to speak at the event (how popular are they?  how rare is it that they’re speaking?)

2.  The topics the speakers are going to talk about (are these topics things that people are REALLY interested in, or just kind-of interested in)

So that was my focus…

And with that in mind, here’s how I put the speakers together…

First off, I wanted to get one big whale speaker.

And from the get-go I only had one person in mind.

Mike Geary.

Mike is without a doubt the guy I’ve learned the most from when it comes to running an email list.

He owns multiple email lists that total over 2 million active subscribers.

He rakes in like $10 million a year (in profit) just from email.

He’s also the epitome of a lifestyle entrepreneur.

Most of his time is spent traveling, hiking and skiiing (and not on a computer).

So I really wanted Mike to speak…

Only problem is, Mike pretty much never speaks at events.

Like ever.

It’s just not his thing.

He’d rather be out enjoying life.

However…

In the last few months, a lot has changed in Mike’s business.

For example…

He took back control of his email lists after having someone else on his team manage them for the last few years…

So now he’s back in the saddle writing emails everyday…

And testing new formats…

And because of that…

His love of email has been renewed.

And he’s more excited about it than he has been in a long time.

And luckily for me…

I reached out to him and asked if he would speak right as his “email mojo” started pumping again.

So call it fate…

Or lucky timing…

But Mike said he had a bunch of new stuff he was working on, and he was excited to come to the event and share it with everyone.

So that was a huge win.

And once Mike agreed to speak, I started reaching out to a few other potential speakers…

And each of those speakers were targeted for very specific reasons.

So I’ll break those down for ya…

Starting with…

Ian Stanley – Ian previously spoke at one of my Copy Accelerator events in 2021 and people freaking loved him.  Not only is Ian really good at email copy, he’s also a good speaker, he’s well known and people tend to gravitate to Ian.  So when you’re putting on an event, that’s the kind of person you want speaking at it.

The next person I asked was Liss Graham.  I asked Liss to speak for two very specific reasons.  First, she generates over $13 million a year managing lists in the health & supplement space (a lot of people on my list write in health & supplements, so they’ll be interested in her insights).  And secondly, Liss is a woman. Which is really important if you’re running an event and you want women to attend and to feel comfortable at the event.  If all the speakers are dudes, and 90% of the people in attendance are dudes (which is common in the internet marketing world), the women won’t feel comfortable.  So not only is Liss a badass at managing lists in the health space, but she also helps me attract more women to the event.

The next person I asked was Kate Aseltine. If you don’t know Kate, she’s the head copywriter for Native Path (which is a 8-figure supplement company).  Kate’s not a huge name in the copy world, but she’s a huge talent.  Her copy is scary good, and everytime I look at it, I’m impressed.  I think she’s gonna blow a lot of people away with her talk.   So with Kate, I got a killer email writer and also another woman, so she was a perfect fit.

The last person I asked was Jerrod Harlan. Jerrod is a big name in the email world.  He’s written for MiamiMD, Credit Secrets, Breakthrough Guitar, and now he’s the head email writer at ClickFunnels.  So he’s the guy writing all the emails for Russell Brunson and Dan Kennedy, which is like the creme de la creme. Jerrod is a stone cold killer when it comes to email, and his credentials are a mile long, so getting him to speak gives me another big name to feature…

So as it stands now, the speakers at the event will be me, Mike Geary, Ian Stanley, Liss Graham, Kate Aseltine and Jerrod Harlan.

I’ll probably add one more person to that list in the coming days…

But overall I’m super happy with the lineup.

It’s a murderer’s row of email marketers.

And I think a lot of people will pick up my Black Friday bundle simply because of the ticket they’re getting to the Email Experts event.

So I think it’s a killer bonus.

And I’m excited to see how it does next week…

Anyways…

Hopefully this behind-the-scenes look into how I came up with my Black Friday offer has been helpful for you.

I’ll probably continue with it tomorrow…

But for now…

Enjoy your Friday,

– Justin
