Earlier this year, Andrew Tennant was a frustrated insurance salesman who was struggling to sell insurance.
His days mostly consisted of cold calling his friends and family…
And then listening to every excuse in the book about why they didn’t need insurance.
At one point Andrew’s own father-in-law said he would buy some insurance from Andrew to help him out.
So Andrew went to work, got him some quotes and brought the quotes to him all excited that he was going to make a sale.
However that sale never happened.
Why?
Because he couldn’t beat the rate his father-in-law already had through another broker.
“It was just one failure after another” said Andrew. “I needed to take care of my family and pay my bills so I started looking for something else”
As Andrew’s frustrations with his insurance business grew, he started to think more about copywriting…
He had already been studying copy as a way to get more leads for his insurance business.
But now he decided to get serious about it.
So he applied for a few jobs on Upwork…
And eventually got his first gig for $500…
From there things kind of snowballed, and he started picking up more gigs writing sales pages and creating funnels for business owners.
Eventually Andrew decided he wanted to spend more time on copy.
So he ponied up the money to attend one of our Copy Accelerator events.
And at the event, he was able to land a $9000 client by showing him a sample of his writing.
Which is awesome.
And that $9000 client helped Andrew gain more confidence and start landing bigger clients in the financial, survival and spy niche.
So in the matter of a year, he went from struggling to sell insurance…
To now making $5k-$10k a month writing copy.
Not too shabby if you ask me.
Which is why I sat down with Andrew recently and had him spill all the details of how he did it.
We talked about how he made the decision to go full-time as a copywriter…
