What I’m gonna share in this email might be the least sexy, yet best way to get your copy converting better.

When I tell you this tactic, I can promise you it won’t feel cool.

You’ll probably roll your eyes.

And you might even say “yeh, yeh, I already know that”.

However…

I’m gonna tell you it anyway.

Why?

Because 90% of copywriters don’t do what I’m about to tell you (even good copywriters).

And I think it’s a huge mistake.

Because if you simply follow this little bit of advice, your copy could convert 50% better with no extra writing on your part.

So…

Are you ready for the most un-sexy, yet profitable secret when it comes to copy?

Well here it is…

You simply talk to 5-10 different people who bought your product and you interview them. 

I know that’s about as sexy as a bearded man in a bikini…

But here’s the thing…

It works like crazy. 

In fact, one of my copy cubs (Alec) recently discovered how powerful this was firsthand.

Instead of hopping right in and writing copy based on who he thought the customer was…

He had his client do like 8 skype interviews with people who had purchased their program.

So once the interviews were done, Alec watched each one of the 8 videos.

And he got to see exactly who was buying her product.

He saw how old they were…

What they sounded like…

What kind of pain points they had…

What motivated them to buy the program…

All of that…

And guess what?

He told me point blank “it completely changed how I’m writing the copy, cause now I have an actual person to write to in my head“.

This is so important.

Instead of writing to some imaginary person who he THINKS is the buyer…

He’s now writing to a REAL person.

A person that he knows how they think, feel, look, and sound.

And because he knows his buyer better…

He now can write with more empathy.

His words connect more.

So the reader will feel like “this person knows what I’m going through”.

Which is what you want.

Like I said…

Talking to previous buyers is such a simple, unsexy thing to do.

It’s not flashy.

Or new.

But it will make your copy convert so much better if you simply put the time in and do it. 

That’s the key.

So there ya go…
