Yesterday I was going over my goals for 2021 and I realized that my #1 goal for this year (growing my email list) hasn’t gotten any love from me.
Which is an issue.
Cause my list is the main way I get new people to our events…
And into our mastermind…
So the list needs to be growing.
My goal for the list at the beginning of the year was to take it from 3000ish people to 10,000 people.
Well I’m not anywhere near that.
My list size is still hovering around 3400 people.
So yesterday I decided to make some changes.
I realized that if growing my list is all on me, it’s not gonna get the focus it needs.
It needs someone managing it.
Cause I have a lot of stuff I want to do to grow the list like…
– Have affiliates mailing to an opt-in page
– Get on some big podcasts
– Get more people from the Justin & Stefan Talk Copy Facebook group onto my list
– Test cold traffic FB ads for my list
I could probably list a bunch more things…
But you get the point.
There’s a lot to do…
And if it’s left up to me I’ve shown that I’ll just ignore it.
So I’m gonna bring someone on to manage this for me.
And to take some of the work off my plate.
Anyways…
I wanted to share this insight with you for a very specific reason.
And that reason is one that I preach all the time…
This business is all about customer acquisition.
I’m not in the “mastermind” business…
Or the “coaching” business…
I’m in the customer acquistion business.
And without a steady flow of new people coming onto my list each and everyday, my business will suffer.
Everything in my business will work better if I have a list of 10,000 vs a list of 3,000.
So my focus needs to be on acquiring customers.
That’s the key.
In my 16 years of doing this, I’ve discovered that nothing moves the needle more than bringing in a bunch of new buyers each day.
So that’s what I’m gonna focus on…
And you probably should as well.
