One of the smartest things you can do in your life is to embrace Steven Pressfield’s idea of being a “pro” instead of being an “amateur”.

Here’s what I mean by that…

On Monday our big Copy Accelerator event kicks off in Tampa.

And we have nearly 400 people attending (both in person and virtually).

Live events like this can be incredibly draining for me.

So I have to be at my best going into it…

So for the last 10 days, I’ve been a “pro” about my prep for the event.

That means…

– No late nights (I was in bed by 9:45 every night except one)

– Staying on my routine with working out 3x a week, and walking 7500 steps a day

– Getting an IV drip yesterday so I feel my best

– No alcohol in the 10 days leading up to the event (I rarely drink so this isnt a big issue, but I’m doubly aware of it leading up to an event)

– Going over my talks multiple times so that I have a good feel for how they flow

– Ignoring pretty much everything else in my life that is not event related (mostly other stuff in the business, people asking me to do things etc…)

– Getting into Tampa two days early, so I can get acclimated to my room, the event space, the surroundings etc…

I’m sure there’s other things I’m doing to prep for the event, but you get the point.

I take the events we put on very seriously…

Cause I want everyone attending to get a ton of value from it…

So I do what a “pro” would do…

And I make sure I’m prepared and at my best.

This is a stark contrast to the way I did things 8-10 years ago.

I can say without hesitation that the Justin from 10 years ago would not do this.

He would have probably been out til 2 AM multiple nights before the event kicked off.

And he would have been dragging ass, and not at his best at the event because of it.

Anyways…

Wanted to share this with you, cause I think it’s a good example of what it means to “turn pro”.

Turning pro isn’t easy.

In fact, it’s a lot harder.

But if you’re serious about what you’re doing…

And you want to be the best at it…

Turning “pro” is the only way to do it.

Make sense?

I hope so.

Cause that’s all I got for ya today.

Enjoy your Saturday,

– Justin
