One question I get asked a lot is “why I don’t write copy anymore for clients?”…

And the answer to that question is simple…

I don’t enjoy it.

Honestly, I’ve never enjoyed writing 40 page sales letters.

It’s just too much of a slog for me.

It reminds me of the final scene in Shawshank Redemption where Andy has to crawl through the 500 yards of shit to get out of prison.

That’s what writing a 40 page sales letter feels like to me.

So I stopped doing it.

That’s not to say I don’t like writing copy.

I love writing copy.

But I like writing things like emails and my print newsletter.

I don’t like writing long sales pages.

And honestly that’s not where my strength is anyways.

Sure, I’m a good copywriter…

But my strength is in the funnel.

It’s dialing-in upsells, ads, the offer etc…

I’m much better at the marketing stuff.

And I love to nerd out on it.

So that’s why I focus on it.

Point being…

If you don’t like doing something, you should find a way to NOT have to do it.

If I had to write 2 sales letters a month, I would be miserable.

But a lot of people spend time doing crap they don’t like.

Well, I’m here to tell you, you don’t have to do that.

There’s another way.

You can hire out the stuff you don’t like to do…

Or you can shift to another way of making money…

You don’t have to settle for doing something you don’t enjoy.

My thought is that if you’re gonna work for 8-10 hours a day, you might as well do something you enjoy.

Hope was helpful for you…

Enjoy your Saturday.
