One of the biggest things you need to be cautious of is taking advice from people that think they’re experts (but they really aren’t).

For example…

Over the weekend I saw a debate on Facebook about “how many days per week you should email your list”.

As I scrolled through the thread,  some of the responses were terrifying.

It was the blind leading the blind.

“If you mail more than 3x per week you’re either sending B.S.,  or you’re on a fast track to losing your list”

“Showering people with a bunch of emails each week guarantees they’ll stop reading them”

“I unsubscribe to anyone who mails more than a few times a week, and I advise my clients to do the same”

This went on and on…

And there were a few hundred comments that all echoed a similar sentiment.

I’d wager a pretty penny that most of these people  have never run a 7-figure business…

Or even managed a successful email list…

Yet, they were dishing out advice like it was fact.

So being the good samaritan that I am…

I decided to chime in and share some of my thoughts on email.

“You should probably mail 7x a week.  If you’re not mailing 7x a week, you’re leaving money on the table.

All of the 8 and 9 figure direct response companies that crush with email are mailing everyday (that should be a hint to you)”

What’s funny is that even after I posted this, a good chunk of people still refused to change their mind.

They were set in their beliefs that the more email you sent, the worse it was for your business.

Well that’s just not true.

If I could get the same results from sending one email a week as I do from sending 7 emails a week, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

Cause that would be a lot less work for me.

But that’s not how it works.

And the data is very clear on this.

The more emails you send, the more money you make.

All the biggest DR companies have figured this out.

But some people still refuse to believe it.

Call it stubborn thinking…

Call it believing ones own biases…

Whatever it is, they’re wrong.

And it’s why you need to be careful about who you take advice from.

People love to spout off and share advice cause it makes them feel important.

But the only people you should listen to are actual experts.

You wouldn’t take investing advice from a broke person, so you probably shouldn’t take email advice from someone who’s not making a bunch of money from email.

Just following that little tip will save you a lot of headaches and frustration.

That’s all I got for ya today…

Enjoy your Tuesday.
