Last month when I was in Utah, I had one of the most insightful conversations I’ve ever had with Ian Stanley.

I’ll set the scene for ya…

Ian and I were both in an Uber.  And we were headed to the Salt Lake City airport to fly back home.

As we rolled through the mountains of Utah, Ian and I started talking about what our “focus” was going to be for the next few months.

Ian told me all about the freelancing event he was doing with Stefan Georgi…

And the email deliverability course he put together with Andrew Clark.

It was perfect timing that we were having this conversation.

Cause I had about 7 different projects on my mind that I wanted to do.

And I couldn’t narrow it down.

But in a moment of clarity it just kind of came to me.

I want to grow Copy Accelerator…

I want to launch my high-end newsletter…

And I want to grow my email list…

That’s my plan.

I don’t know if it was the fresh mountain air that spurred this clarity, or what…

But I got clear.

And by focusing on those 3 things…

I was able to “weed out” the other 4-5 projects that I had on my mind.

Which isn’t easy for me.

Cause I tend to struggle with taking on too much stuff at once.

And then I’m spread too thin.

But I’ve realized lately that the times when I’m the happiest (and making the most money)…

I always have a singular focus.

So I’m getting back to that.

And my focus for 2020 is very clear now.

1. Growing Copy Accelerator to 120-150 people

2. Launching my high-end newsletter and growing that to 400 members.

3. Growing my email list to 5000 people, while keeping the QUALITY of people on the list very high

That’s it.

That’s my vision.

And anything that detracts from that vision, I’m going to say “no” to.

Which ain’t easy.

Cause I get pitched awesome deals nearly every week.

A few weeks ago, someone offered me a % of their company in exchange for once-a-week consulting.

And earlier this week, a guy offered me $75k to re-write his upsells.

That’s hard to turn away.

But I have to do it.

Cause it’s just a distraction.

And it takes my focus away from my “big 3”.

Anyways…

If you struggle with this like I do…

And you have a tendency to take on too much stuff.

I’d highly recommend getting clear on your focus.

Find the 1-3 things that are gonna really move the needle for you.

And go “all in” on those.

You’ll be glad you did.
