Earlier this year, the company that Ning Li writes copy for released a free + shipping cookbook in the keto niche.

The offer was converting well on the front-end.

But they simply couldn’t get the upsell dialed in.

So their average order value (AOV) was not high enough for them to scale the offer.

Around this same time, Ning attended our Copy Accelerator event in Vegas.

And on Day 1 of the event, Jay Deiboldt gave the best presentation on upsells that I’ve ever seen.

He broke down exactly what he does to get a huge take rate on his upsells (most of which is very different from what every marketer does).

I was sitting in the back when Jay spoke, and I furiously scribbled down 3 pages of notes.

It was that damn good.

And I heard the same from other “big hitters” in the room as well.

Luckily for Ning, he was at this presentation as well.

And he took to heart everything Jay shared in his talk.

So when Ning got back home, he put together 2 entirely NEW upsells to test on their keto offer.

One of those upsells followed the model that Jay talked about to a “t”.

And the result?

The AOV on their F+S offer went from about $17 to $21!

Now if you’re not familiar with the metrics of F+S offers, this is a HUGE deal.

That would be like adding $35 to the AOV of a product that had a $150 AOV.

So adding $4 to a F+S offer like this is a game-changer.

Cause here’s what it allows them to do…

They’ll be able to buy more traffic that they previously couldn’t afford.  

So they’re going to be able to scale this offer up to hundreds (if not thousands) of sales a day.

All because they got their upsell dialed in.

That’s pretty impressive if you ask me…

What’s even better is that Ning’s boss gave him a raise right on the spot because of this big win.

So it was a win for both Ning and the Paleohacks team.

Which is why I want to congratulate Ning Li for being our Copy Accelerator member of the week.

Ning’s big win is a great example of what’s possible when you simply follow what works and implement it on your own offers.

Sometimes it’s that simple.
