After my email yesterday about “how you can make too much money” I got an interesting email from my buddy, Craig Ballantyne…

He said…

“I’m interested to hear what retirement would look  like for you.  How different would it be from your current day?”

This is a great question.

And one I have NOT given a ton of thought to.

But here’s my best guess…

I don’t think I’ll ever stop being an entrepreneur.

I probably won’t live the typical retirement life you see in America.

Which is retiring at 65, golfing, going on cruises, and never doing anything related to work again.

That doesn’t really appeal to me.

I’d be bored out of my mind.

My gut says I’ll probably shift more of my focus to dog rescue stuff.

That’s something I truly love.

I get a lot of fulfillment out of helping a poor pup get out of a bad situation, and into a loving home.

So retirement could be me starting my own rescue.

Or I could simply help other rescues with their fundraising and marketing.

I could see myself doing more of that…

The other thing I truly love to do is to mentor younger people.

So far I’ve mostly done this in a business setting…

But I’d like to expand on that.

Because having a good role model when you’re young is crucial.

I come from an abusive home where there wasn’t a whole lot of encouragement.

I didn’t have anyone in my corner rooting me on and telling me I was a good kid.

I basically felt like I didn’t matter.

And after a few years of therapy, I now know how much this can mess a kid up.

So if I could help mentor young kids…

And help them see their potential, I think that’s something I’d really love to do.

So there ya go…

That’s a little look into what a “Justin Goff retirement” would look like.

Basically I’d still be active…

Just in other avenues than what I’m doing now.

Hat tip to ole’ CB for the question.

This was fun.

Enjoy your Sunday,

– Justin
