An interesting question came in over the weekend about me and Grant Cardone…

My first mentor was Grant Cardone, and it’s interesting to see the difference in how you look at business/money versus how he looks at it.  Do you think there’s a benefit to being more like Grant and pushing yourself more?

Great question.

Personally I’ve never vibed with Grant.

Why?

He’s just too extreme for me.

He’s all about “more, more, more”.

He’s about working til your eyes bleed.

I think it’s hustle culture at it’s worst.

Also…

Grant and I have very different goals.

I have no interest in being a billionaire.

I have no interest in waking up at 4:30 everyday.

I’m much more of a lifestyle entrepreneur.

And my motto has always been money, freedom, and happiness.

What’s more…

My past experiences have shown me that people who operate at the extremes (like Grant) are usually not very happy.

They’re trying to compensate for something.

So everything in their life has to be extreme.

That’s not really my vibe.

However…

I’m well aware there’s different strokes for different folks.

The 25 year-old version of me probably would have been all-in on Grant.

But I’m not that guy anymore.

That’s not the kind of life I want.

I’m pretty clear that I want my business to…

– make me a few million bucks a year (while working a few hours a day)

– give me the freedom to live life how I want

– have a mostly stress-free life

That’s kind of my philosophy in a nutshell.

It’s a fit for me.

And that’s what matters.

What Grant does, might be a good fit for him.

But it’s not for me.

And that’s what I care about.

I care about having the life that I want.

I’m not trying to impress others.

Or trying to compare my life to other entrepreneurs.

It’s not a contest.

I only care about getting what I want.

Make sense?

I hope so.

Cause that’s all I got for ya today…

Enjoy your Tuesday.
