At least once a week I get an email from someone saying “I wish you had a podcast”.

I’ve definitely toyed with the idea.

Because I love podcasts.

I’ve been listening to Bill Simmons podcast since like 2008.

And I listen to that 3x a week.

So I’m a podcast nerd.

However…

I’m a firm believer that in order to really build your platform you have to put 90% of your focus into one thing.

This is just something I’ve observed over time.

And all the most successful people do it.

Joe Rogan puts all his focus on his podcast.

Craig Ballantyne puts most of his focus into his Instagram stories.

Jesse Elder is all-in on Facebook videos.

Each of these guys have picked one platform and put the majority of their focus into it.

I do the same.

And for me, it’s email.

I put my heart and soul into this email list each morning.

To the point that I’m pretty spent by the time I get done writing my email.

But once I recharge…

My thoughts go right back to how I can make this email list better.

I’m always thinking of new ideas…

Or ways to grow my list.

Email is constantly on my mind.

Because that’s my main focus.

And it makes sense…

Cause everything I do stems from this email list.

It fills our live events.

It puts people into our mastermind.

If I tried to do a podcast on top of writing a daily email, I simply wouldn’t have the energy to do it.

I’d wind up half-assing it.

And it would just be mediocre.

So instead of putting out mediocre podcasts…

I simply don’t do it.

But like a lot of things it’s tempting.

I see the allure of it.

However I know it’s not the best use of my time…

My time is better spent focusing on my email list.

Cause I know if I keep writing emails every morning that YOU like…

And that you connect with.

This list will continue to grow.

And things like my coaching program, and my new courses (which come out in 2020) will sell really well because of it.

That’s my plan.

It’s all about email for me.

And whether you choose to focus on email, Insta, Facebook, Youtube…whatever….

I highly suggest picking one.

And making that your main focus.

Cause you can’t do all five of them well.

It’s not possible.

Pick one and go all-in on it.

I think that’s the key.

That’s all I got for today…

Enjoy your Thursday.
