After selling my Copy Accelerator business nearly 8 months ago, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what I want to do with my life.
I’ve wondered if copywriting is actually my calling…
And if I’m meant to do something greater.
I mean, sure I like creating courses…
And I like mentoring the next generation of copywriters and marketers.
But I don’t know if that’s my ultimate calling.
Deep down I think there might be something more.
And a lot of this thinking goes back to an ayahuasca journey I did in 2017 with about 20 of my good friends.
We did aya for two nights…
And that experience had a profound impact on me.
It opened me up emotionally…
I cried for the first time in years.
And after the ceremony, I sat in stunned silence about what I had just experienced.
It was that powerful.
I’ve thought about that experience many times since then.
I was incredibly moved by how deep of an impact the medicine had on me.
And the more I thought about it, the more I realized I wanted to help others do the same.
Specifically with entrepreneurs and business people.
I want to help them break free of all the stress, and insignificant crap that goes along with building, scaling and selling stuff day-in and day-out.
So after thinking about this for the past 8 months…
I finally decided to pull the trigger.
I’ll be moving to Peru in May to start my training to become a shaman.
I know it won’t be an easy path…
And living in the jungle comes with it’s own host of issues (especially with my strict diet)…
But I feel called to this.
I know it’s the right thing for me.
So I’m diving in head first.
I already have someone listing my house in Austin so I can sell it…
And I’m gonna start putting my stuff in storage in about two weeks…
I know this may come as a surprise to you.
Especially if you’ve known me for a while.
But I think I can have a bigger impact on the world as a whole being a shaman.
I don’t want to do this surface-level stuff anymore.
I want to help people get to the root of what’s causing them so much pain and frustration.
And I simply can’t do that with what I’m doing now.
So I’m making a change.
I have no idea what the internet access is like in Peru, but I probably won’t be writing to you each day like I currently do.
So I’m gonna take this time to thank you for reading my emails over the years…
And for supporting me.

I want to thank you for that.
It means a lot to me.

That ain’t the life for me.
I’ll be here each day writing this email to you about copy, marketing, and making your life better.
Why?
Cause this is what I love to do.
I love writing…
And I love being a marketing nerd.
So I’m gonna keep doing what I love to do.
