The older I get, the more my focus has turned to quality over quantity.

I.E. I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

Case in point…

Last night I met up with a few buddies for my friend Mike’s 40th birthday…

Mike rented out a little pizzeria downtown…

He cleared all the tables out…

Setup a DJ booth…

And had a big dance floor where everyone was hanging out.

It was packed wall-to-wall.

And by the time I walked in, there had to be 100+ people there.

Which for someone turning 40 years old is a lot of friends to have.

But here’s the thing…

As the night went on, it became evident just how “thin” these friendships were.

I saw one group of girls get an invite to a “better party” so all 8 of them up and left…

I saw multiple other groups sneak out the back and leave without even saying goodbye to Mike.

It was eye opening to see.

But it was also a good reminder…

A reminder that “more” isn’t always better.

We tend to think that things will be better if they get bigger (or if we have more of them).

But the reality of friendships, relationships, and even your business…

Is that you’re almost always better off focusing on quality over quantity.

Quality is what drives results in business…

And it’s what makes relationships touch you on a deep level…

You don’t want 100 pennies in your life…

You want 4 quarters.
